Centre for Innovation, Technology Transfer and University Development (CITTRU) is an institution established at the Jagiellonian University (JU). Its main purpose is to support development of science and economy by strengthening cooperation and communication between science and business environment. CITTRU main tasks include:
• identification of JU innovations,
• legal protection of intelectual property developed at JU,
• analysis of market potential for JU intelectual property,
• selection of the optimal way of scientific achievements commercialization , through licensing, sale or creation of
spin-off / spin-out companies, in cooperation with researchers and relevant entrepreneurs / investors,
• development of the Jagiellonian University technology portfolio with innovative industrial solutions and
contract research offer for external institutions,
• promotion of technology portfolio at trade fairs, business conferences and direct meetings with potential
recipients of technology,
• identification of potential business partners interested in further development and commercialization of
technologies developed by researchers at the Jagiellonian University, building networking with the industry,
• negotiation, preparation and professional supervision in the implementation of agreements related to
commercialization,
• coordination of the contract research performed at the Jagiellonian University, including the creation of contract
research offer and its promotion among potential buyers and negotiation of agreements,
• cooperation with external entities in promoting a pro-innovation policy.
