This was fourth edition of the the largest forum for exports and internationalization that took part 4th and 5th of November at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre. There were 268 registered companies and institutions, about 3 200 experts from 37 countries around the world. The entrepreneurs had almost 500 meetings.

During GlobalConnect were presented about 220 presentations about market, strategies and innovative solutions, which visitors may watched during conferences and at the stands. Also there were organized conferences and what is more important the organizers let the entrepreneurs and the visitors B2B meetings.
Peter Friedrich, Baden-Württemberg Minister for the Federal Council, Europe and International Affairs, Brigitte Zypries, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and Consul General of the United States of America, Kevin C. Milas open the event with short but interesting speeches.
"In times of immense changes in the global economy, GlobalConnect is an important platform for internationally operating companies, business associations and organizations. GlobalConnect discusses many of the economic issues affecting Baden-Württemberg and the national and international community: for example the impacts of political crises on the global economy, transatlantic relations, the shortage of skilled workers and youth unemployment," said Peter Friedrich, Baden-Württemberg Minister for the Federal Council, Europe and International Affairs. "GlobalConnect offers a unique worldwide network of partners, experts and service providers in the areas of exports and internationalization" Minister underlined.
During the official gale there were GlobalConnect Awards awarded in the categories „Hidden Champion“, "Newcomer" and "Global Player" / Visitors' Prize awarded for first time for the Internationally active companies. Newcomer prize went to the Wellness Factory in Vaihingen an der Enz (producer of soft tiles that are suitable for permanent use above and under water). "Hidden Champion" went to Lewa GmbH (designing and manufacturing membrane pumps and metering units for numerous industries). "Global Player", the prize went to Ziehl-Abegg SE (production of produces ventilators and motors, as well as the respective control technology).
GlobalConnect 2014 was an opportunity to relate new contacts with experts and authorities and academia partners, businessmen and representatives of the government and government organizations but also for face the problems and meet the expectations. The event was organized also from the need of companies that want to establish their business abroad, want to invest abroad, are looking for potential partners or just want to intensify their international departments.
