Laboratory of Investment

The offer of Laboratory of Investment is addressed to independent researchers, students, academics and existing companies (hereinafter referred to as the originator), who have a business idea, promising research or finished product or service that has a potential to be sell. The project has to be within the life science sector , therefore within biotechnology, cosmetology, pharmacy, medicine, renewable energy, chemistry or IT. In general project from the sector that is growing rapidly and has great potential.

If the idea is ours so what does Laboratory of Investment? Business analysts, large capital - from 20 000 to 200 000 euro (this amount may be higher if in the project will be involved a co-investor), experts support, administrative and organizational support, the acquisition of offices and accounting and legal assistance. However, the final product of an investor and originator partnership, must be a company registered in Poland. Thus, the researchers or other individuals from abroad are also welcome to participate in the project.

Together the originator and Laboratory of Investment develop a business model, introduce strategic changes to plan, indicate areas of risk, sometimes remodel original concept and propose a new solution to conduct business otherwise. This is called pre-incubation stage, when the consideration of the idea is necessary, to close all the formalities, worked the idea with experts and the most important - to check whether this idea can earn money. To do this, is performed business analysis, the company is valued and is decided whether the investor enters the capital in that project. Laboratory of Investment acquires a stake in the company to a maximum of 49%. Of course, all of this is dependent on the physical, the actual contribution of the investor - if the whole initiative is originator, commercialization activities, he performs analyzes by himself and Laboratory of Investment puts "only" money - of course, their contribution in the company is correspondingly lower.

Who can apply? Every person who has an idea that can be sold. Ideally, it has to be an open scientist who can be able to be in the industry, who knows the market, and even customers 

and their needs. It is also nice that a person knows how to run the company, because the Laboratory of Investment is unable to carry out the whole process and hold by the hand the originator. The Laboratory of Investment is the only silent partner, provides support, help, hires experts, analysts, but the whole responsibility, performance of the product/service, and development of the company lies in the side of originator.

In what projects Laboratory of Investment refuse to invest? Unfortunately, they are not able to put money into ideas that require strict laboratory pre-testing stage and preclinical studies. This is simply define in contract and the formal requirements - the investor is simply not able to wait 2 or 3 years, to determine whether the project, the product and the service is working.

Therefore, frequently researchers leave the studies at the universities and get nothing but proud that they actually discover or achieve something.
